Bunny Tail Scarf

I finished up two of my bunny tail scarves.  They are so adorably soft and cuddly!!  I don't have any really little girls in our family anymore, so I'm thinking of making some and giving them to some friends of mine.  I hope Lexi, Lani and Rani love their scarves!!

They aren't hard too hard to make and go fast.  You need to use pom pom yarn.  First, you put 8 stitches on your needle.  They say use a backwards loop method, but making a loop between each pom pom works just as well.  Make a loop with the carrier thread and place it on your needle.
Then you knit each stitch between the pom poms.  Make sure the pom poms don't go through your stitches.  As you finish each row, straighten all your stitches and pom poms.
This one is made with 8 stitches--it's a little wider than my other one.

I used an entire ball of pom pom yarn for this one.  And it's a great length for a little girl, or even an adult.

The blue one is made with only 6 cast on stitches.  It's thinner and also a lot longer.
I tried several methods of casting off.  You can't cast off as you would with normal yarn.  It bunches it all up and it looks horrible.  Leave about a foot or so pom pom yarn at the end.  The best method is to use a yarn needle, thread it with your yarn at the end.  Pick up 2 stitches with the yarn needle.  Leaving the stitches on your knitting needle. Go back through the very first stitch, then take it off the needle.  Do the same thing with each of the stitches left.  Pick up 2 with the yarn needle, and back through the first stitch on your knitting needles.  After you get to your last stitch, just put the yarn needle through that one and it's all cast off.  Then you can weave the ends through to secure them.

Finishing up my latest cowl
it always feels so good to finish up a project.  Anyone who knows me, knows I have tons of half finished projects around.  This cowl was a going to be a prototype that I was going to alter.  

Since I'm mathematically challenged, and this was knitted with a multiple of three's.....I ended up with some extra stitches.  I was going to give this one away, but now I feel like I'd be giving someone a messed up mess.  It's warm and snuggly and no one knows the mistakes but me....so I guess I'll keep this one. And give away the next one...that hopefully will be right!  

Ramoney, my doggy helper, is so patient.  It's like he's asking, "Are you done yet, mommy? I wanna play."  He's my baby, and I can't imagine life without him!

Addie's Blankie

Erika asked me to make her little girl, Addie, a baby blanket for her baby doll for Christmas.  I always worry that people won't like what I make for them.  Especially a wee little girl.  But she loved it!  I'm so touched!!

Making a blog

When I think of a blog, I think of a really smart person who lives in a loft in New York City.  They have tons of things to say, wonderful surroundings to draw inspiration from and are a lot more creative than I could ever think to be.  But after reading some awesome blogs this past month or two, I decided to jump in the water and make my own.  Carve my own path.  Ohio is awesome too!  Right?  My life is full of cool stuff, I just need to stand back and look at it from a different angle.  Believe in myself and give myself a break.  Everyone loved their gifts I made them for Christmas, and that was so encouraging!  They liked it!!  Hopefully, people will like my blog too!  Okay, holding my nose…getting ready to jump…Ready or not, Here I come!!
